Prof. Avv. Paolo Borghi

 

Master's Degree in Law with honor at the University of Ferrara in 1990, PhD in International and Comparative Agricultural Law, at the University of Pisa in 1995.

 

He is currently full professor at the University of Ferrara, Faculty of Law, where he teaches “EU Law” and “Food Law”. Since 2002 he is chairholder of the “Jean Monnet” Chair of “EU Food Law” of his University. He's the supervisor of the PhD Program in EU Law at the University of Ferrara.

 

He is a founder, and a board member, of the AIDA-IFLA (Associazione Italiana di Diritto Alimentare - Italian Food Law Association), founder and vice-director of the Rivista di diritto alimentare (Italian Food Law Review).

 

He cooperates with the European Agricultural Law Committee, and is a member of honour to the AIBADA (Associacion Iberoamericana de Derecho Alimentario) and correspondent member of the Accademia dei Georgofili (Florence). He's also member of the Accademia Italiana della Cucina. He's been a consultant of the agro-food working group of Nomisma, and member of the scientific committee charged of working out the draft Italian “food law code”, on behalf of the Italian Government. Reporter in several national and international congresses, he is author of many publications (articles and books) in Italian and English.

 

Since 2012 he is member of the bank foundation "Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Cento".

 

Attorney at law since 1995, his main practice areas are food law, civil law, commercial law and litigation.
